This custom wedding invitation designed by the talented Paisley Quill features subtle butterflies on the invitation, response card and timeline (not pictured).  The detail of the butterflies as well as wonderfully selected typography are printed in PMS 7415 on a soft cotton paper.  Additionally, rounded corners add a nice touch to a nice invitation.

This Christmas card for designer Casey Remsing turned out great.  Printed in PMS 7472 on the ever-impressive Crane Lettra 220 made for a beautiful combination.  After printing, Casey hand cut the card to accomodate a photograph, making the project even more unique. We snapped the last pick while running the card. I loved the look of the 7472 in the rollers combined with the motion of the Windmill.

The Utley Brothers’ Thanksgiving card was a fun project to letterpress.  Printed on 30 pt. chip board, Casey Remsing, designer, chose PMS 167  to compliment the “earthy” paper with its many flecks and impurities.  Rounded corners also add a nice dimension to the card.

Printed on Cranes Letra Double thick 220#, this business card for Jackie Jacobson-Beland conveys a solid quality image.  With a beautiful design from designer Jill Proctor of Wyoming, Michigan, Jackie approached Utley Brothers looking to get business a special business card for her new CPA business.  Mission accomplished! 

The front of the card is letterpressed with translucent white ink.  The combination of the design and the ink pull off a stunning look and feel.  The back of the card is letterpressed in an always-classic black ink.

It was a real pleasure working on this project and we wish Jackie continued success with her new business.

While not particularly special, these note cards represent a first for us.  For the first time in decades (40+ years) we used type from the type cases my grandfather stored for those 40+ years.  The type has been stored away and gathering dust for a long time.  Until now. 

The 30 pt. Franklin Gothic font impressed real nice into the soft cotton paper.  The combination of font and paper and PMS 306 made the cards really vivid.  The photopolymer plates we use for our regular letterpress work offer a lot of flexibility while producing great looking projects.  But there is something unique and inefficient about going to one of our california cases and picking out each letter one at a time. 

A question from a new friend prompted me to come back and print the ”hello.” card with translucent white ink.  The ink is more clear than white but it adds just enough depth and interest to the piece to take it into the special category.  We use translucent white ink every day in our offset area and we will begin using it in our letterpress studio.  Thank you for the question Jackie.

This two-color dinner party invitation was printed on a beautiful 100% cotton letterpress sheet.  The paper always takes a very nice deep impression.  Matching place cards were also printed at the same time making for a consistent look and feel from the invitation to the evening.  The dinner party was scheduled to be outside, so the green colors were chosen to reflect the surroundings.
